The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program provides workforce development training opportunities to young people ages 14-24.
Through WIOA, youth can gain valuable work skills through a variety of job opportunities such as job shadows, internships, summer jobs, etc. Participants can also receive financial literacy training, leadership development support, guidance and counseling, help getting reengaged in secondary or post-secondary education, etc.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact the TEC Career Specialist in your local WorkSource Oregon office and complete the WIOA Youth Application.
OYC Community Stewardship Corps
The Community Stewardship Corps (CSC) is a community-focused alternative education program. Oregon Youth Corps partners with TEC to provide this program in Harney County. Youth gain valuable education, employment and leadership skills while learning work ethic and environmental knowledge through integrated classroom and field-based learning projects.
Crew activities include natural resource projects such as: trail construction and maintenance, invasive species and noxious weed removal, riparian and wetlands restoration, construction and cultivation of native plant stock. Students also participate in projects such as GIS and GPS mapping and surveying, water/soil sampling and monitoring.
